Sonos was founded in 2002 with an ambitious goal – to reinvent home audio for the digital age. The founders’ vision was simple – fill every home with music and make listening a valued experience again, and make it easy for everybody to listen to the music they love in every room of their home. Sonos wants its customers to hear the songs they love, to discover new music they never knew existed, and to appreciate it all with the highest sound quality.
Just like Lightmaker, Sonos is constantly looking for ways to improve the experience – with new products, new software and continually investing in ways to provide our customers the best experience possible. At its core, the Sonos system is a collection of smart HiFi wireless speakers and audio components. It unites users’ digital music collection in one mobile app that can be controlled from any device.
HiFi Wireless Speaker website build on Sitecore
Lightmaker and Sonos worked very closely together to rebuild the Sonos.com website from the ground up, on an entirely new web content management system (WCMS), Sitecore. Previously Sonos had used a bespoke CMS that didn’t fit their business requirements for the future, so Sitecore was a natural fit that allowed their content team the flexibility to do things like support the website in 25+ languages with various product selections across different regions of the world.
Since the site launch, Lightmaker has continued to work with Sonos on additional enhancements including an extranet for their industry and retail partners.
