Last week The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) held their annual Supplier Excellence Awards at the BT Tower in London. The DWP is responsible for welfare and pension policy and is a key player in tackling child poverty int he UK. It is the biggest public service delivery department and serves over 20 million customers.
Established in 2010 to reward the best of its many suppliers, the Supplier Excellence Awards categories cover Innovation, Sustainability, Value for money, Customer delivery and Collaboration. There are two special awards for the best application, in any category, by a small or medium enterprise, by a Third Sector not for profit organisation and an overall award for Supplier of the Year. This year the awards were presented by Esther McVey, The Minister for Disabled People.
Lightmaker fought off some fierce competition and won the the Category of “Best Application by an SME” for their ‘Sorting Out Separation App’ for The Child Maintenance Group. This project also saw the build of a website that aims to help co-ordinate support services for separating families which can be visited here: www.sortingoutseparation.org.uk
