For the National Terrorism Preparedness Institute (NTPI), Lightmaker built the Vehicle Inspection Checklist (VIC), a vehicle inspection training tool that teaches users how to identify suspicious indicators in a range of vehicles.

The inspections occur in a realistic 3D environment, and learning feedback is delivered by a coaching avatar who offers constructive criticism in relation to the decisions made by the student.

The VIC training tool was showcased by the U.S. Department of Defense in a presentation to a Congressional subcommittee on Capitol Hill in 2007.
