Lightmaker designed a teaser site and full promotional microsite in line with the cartoon style of the game, with a fun but competitive element to the overall site design and functionality. The launch of this site was phased to ensure that users could have an ongoing experience of the site which was rewarded with branded incentives such as a screen saver, a mini game, and a T-shirt transfer. The launch of the main microsite came a week before the final release of the game at a time of heightened awareness of the imminent launch of a new game to the Mario games portfolio. Lightmaker are proud to have been instrumental in the successful structuring of the online marketing of the final game.
