The Race Against Global Poverty is an interactive and educational multiplayer experience, which helps young people aged 11 to 16 gain a greater understanding of the developing world, and supports the Department for International Development (DFID) in their work to reduce global poverty. Lightmaker worked closely with both the DFID and the Central Office of Information (COI) to create the Race Against Global Poverty quiz game.
The main aim of the website is to raise awareness of overseas development issues in conjunction with international poverty. In addition, the Race Against Global Poverty quiz game needed to meet governmental internet standards, provide information about international aid work and inspire young people to get involved.
To meet our objectives Lightmaker created both full Flash and HTML versions of the website. This allowed for maximum creativity whilst meeting government standards for accessibility, usability and Search Engine Optimisation.
The Race Against Global Poverty is incredibly playable, stimulating and fun. Users have the option to play by themselves or challenge their friends with 8 different friendly and unique characters.
