Lightmaker’s ongoing relationship with Manchester United hit new heights this month with the announcement that the website has won the People’s Voice Award at The 2007 Webby Awards, the leading international honor for the Web, for the Best Sports Website of 2007. The awards ceremony takes place in New York City on Tuesday June 3rd.

Lightmaker designed a truly world-beating destination for football fans. This site is delivered through Lightmaker’s Partner Akamai on a content managed system developed by Endava and provides Man Utd the tools and image to increase revenue streams and drive customer loyalty globally.

Re-designed from the ground up, Lightmaker have brought a level of consistency and brand awareness to the site which has raised the bar for sports websites. User testing, accessibility, brand coherence and ROI have been thoroughly considered throughout each stage of development, ensuring the site performs exceptionally in all areas. Working with multiple stakeholders across the Man Utd business, and delivering to a tight deadline Lightmaker have successfully delivered this contract on time and to budget.

The refreshed version of www.manutd.com was formally revealed in August and the results of the project immediatley proved positive, with both Manchester United and its fans providing fantastic feedback.
