LIGHTMAKER LAUNCHES DEATH STAR APPLICATION

To support the launch of the adidas Originals Star Wars collection, Lightmaker have built the Death Star application as designed by Marketing & Design agency Sid Lee.

Using the latest in social media technologies, the application integrates with Facebook Connect, Google Maps and Google Street View giving visitors the chance to virtually 'attack' the houses of friends with the Death Star Super Laser - the functionality is so precise, you can target as close as the front door of the home you have selected!

The combination of technologies allows you to simultaneously select a friend from your Facebook account and select their location on Google Maps. Once this information has been chosen, the recipient receives a link via email where original Star Wars footage containing their personal data can be viewed. This data, taken directly from Facebook and their location, processed through Google Maps appears on the control panel of the Death Star. As the Death Star fires, a crater wipes out their home and is replaced with the adidas Originals logo.

This is the very latest in immersive online interaction. adidas Originals Star Wars collection will hit stores from January 2010.
