It was announced this morning that the J.K. Rowling site has been selected to receive the FWA Site Of The Day (SOTD) Award for 8th June 2004.
FWA is an industry recognised award program and is one of the Worlds Top Awards.
FWA reward websites that use cutting edge technology, together with inspirational ideas, that lead the way for future generations.
It was felt that the J.K. Rowling site was "a very innovative, exciting and atmospheric website for JK Rowling, one that her personality shines through. Right from the opening signature sequence the site exudes a personal touch and we were pleased to find that this site is truly "for" the author rather than "about" the author.
It is also highly commendable that this site is available in five different languages, naturally making the site accessible to a global audience.
The website itself is very intriguing indeed, with user interaction being first class. We are confident that visitors will find themselves engrossed exploring this site as they enjoy a blend of superb imagery, design skills and programming, not forgetting the excellent sound and FX, all of which combine to make for an unforgettable surfing experience.
The added twist of hidden Potterania gives this site an extra edge and will ensure users really see all aspects of this site, as they explore to uncover the treasures."
The site will be displayed on the FWA site and linked as the "Site Of The Day" on Tuesday 8th June and will continue in the "Winners" window for June.
