Essex Police Site Launch

The Essex Police Youth Strategy team have launched an exciting new website which communicates to young people on the day to day situations they experience, problems they may encounter and positive ways in which to resolve any issues.

Award winning digital agency, Lightmaker won the three year project following a competitive pitch and this launch is the first in a multi-phased development which will provide the young people of Essex with a fully interactive space that allows them to communicate directly with the police as well as learn about issues that are important to them.

Lightmaker are recognised as the world's leading Flash developer and their work on the Essex Police project focused on the development of rich and interactive Flash environments, which recreate and bring to life online a number of different scenarios.

Site features will include interactive environments, pages of advice, the opportunity to offer feedback, message board and a host of fun downloads and games.

The new site addresses a host of requirements outlined by the Essex Police, to provide a space which is not only full of information, but which is also fun and engaging. Using games and activities as a method of communicating key messages provides an effective channel for reaching the target audience and initial pilot schemes have been extremely well received. Ian Carter, the Essex Police, PEPYS Programme Manager says ‘Essex Police see this exciting website development as a positive enhancement of their far reaching Youth Strategy, which has at its heart the improvement of all interaction between the police and young people in Essex across all of its relevant business areas. This welcome partnership between the young people of Essex, Lightmaker and Essex Police is going to make a real difference for young people and the ongoing website development will open up endless opportunities for further enhancement in response to our collective needs.'
