The microsite created by Lightmaker for Eidos, Lego Star Wars has been awarded Macromedia Site of the Day Award for Thursday 28 July 2005.
Lightmaker launched the final phase of the Lego Star Wars microsite earlier this month which sees the activation of some great features. Translated into 8 languages and encouraging the user to ‘use the force' to uncover hidden objects within Star Wars based environments. The site contains lots of detailed Flash effects and transitional animations with features including loads of supporting imagery, game information, downloads and character information.
There are a number of ‘studs' for the user to collect which are scattered across the site; these will unlock access to extra bonus content such as wallpapers and screen savers. To unlock this bonus content the user can explore the Lego Star Wars environments within the main window at the top of the screen.
The site was created to support the release of the new gaming title by Eidos and uses the Macromedia MX 2004 suite to develop an explorative and interesting online experience.
