The JK Rowling website has been awarded the BBC Radio 2 website of the day for the 26th November 2004.
This project, which is a personal website for the author J.K. Rowling written in her own words and translated into six languages including French, German, Italian, Spanish and Japanese, is designed to give something back to the fans. A site for J.K. Rowling enthusiasts and Harry Potter enthusiasts to access up to date and truthful information in a fun and engaging online environment.
‘This is a terrific site with a real sense of wonder and mystery' says Mile Mendoza, BBC 2 website reviewer. ‘The home page is an animated version of J.K. Rowling's desk, which is strewn with chewing gum wrappers, paperclips, pens, a very cold looking mug of tea and at least one spider... From there, clicking around the desk will invoke sprinklings of blue magic dust which take you to the different sections.'
This is the third award picked up by Lightmaker for the J.K. Rowling website since its launch in May this year.
