It’s a hugely busy role in an extremely hectic, fast-paced environment. You will cover all aspects of financial administration including tracking agency expenses, handling supplier queries, staff expenses, financial reporting and reporting on purchasing activity weekly to the CFO.
The ideal candidate will have strong finance management experience within a mid-size agency environment. You will be proactive and enjoy working autonomously, but as part of a well-oiled and supportive team. You will have impressive commercial acumen, have the ability to juggle a varied range of tasks whilst having super human attention to detail. You’ll also enjoy learning new skills.
The Finance Manager is responsible for the development and oversight of key agency financial operations including but not limited to
Cash Flow Management & Reporting
Staff Expenses Management
The role will interface with the studio management team including the following key team members:
Executive Director, Creative
Executive Director, Technology
Front End Development Director
Executive Director, Client Services
In addition to the team members above, the Finance Manager role will assist the CEO and Executive Director, Client Services with hiring and other basic Human Resources tasks.
Oversee the general ledger, monthly reconciliations, AP, and AR.
Ensure revenues and costs are accurately recognized and recorded.
Responsible for timely and accurate month end close, including accruals, prepayments, revenue recognition and WIP analysis, depreciation and amortization, GL reconciliations.
Regular Collaboration with project managers / studio for accurate revenue forecasting.
Process monthly payroll in collaboration with HR.
Financial reporting and analysis.
Enforce and improve internal controls and processes.
Miscellaneous compliance which includes, but is not limited to, local and state ordinances and filings, company insurance, and financials for the bank.
Monitoring budgets and improving cash flow – you’ll review and improve credit control and aged debt recovery.
Overseeing the sales and Profit/Loss functions.
Balancing control accounts.
Responsible for efficient and prompt client invoicing and follow up.
Have 3+ years proven experience in finance management.
Have sound data entry skills.
Be suitably qualified with strong bookkeeping background.
Be an advanced user of Microsoft and Google office and collaborative software.
Be an experienced Quickbooks Online user (preferable).
Possess excellent communication and organization skills.
